2014 Day of Prayer

The 63rd annual National Day of Prayer (NDP) was observed Thursday, May 1, 2014, with some prayer activities beginning the day before, and the final gathering taking place Saturday, May 3. Hundreds of people attended the numerous prayer events that were held throughout the greater Killeen-Fort Hood area.

The theme for this year (as selected by the NDP task force in Colorado Springs) was One Voice, United in Prayer, emphasizing the need for God’s people, corporately and individually, to place their faith in the unfailing character of their Creator, who is sovereign over all governments, authorities, and individuals. The chosen Scripture passage this year was Romans 15:6, which states, “So that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Anne Graham Lotz had prepared a special 2014 Prayer for the Nation that was read in unison at prayer events locally, and throughout the nation.
