2013 Day of Prayer

The 62nd annual National Day of Prayer was observed Thursday, May 2, 2013. This year’s theme chosen by the NDP Task Force in Colorado Springs was,  “Pray for America,” based on Matthew 12:21, “In His name the nations will put their hope.” This is a reminder for us that our nation and its leaders need divine wisdom in order to handle the difficult challenges we face today.

More than 2 million people attended some 50,000 prayer events nationwide. These included prayer gatherings at the nation’s capitol, state capitols, county courthouses and city halls across the nation. Numerous churches, businesses, schools and homes also hosted various prayer events throughout the day.
